Barro Negro + Beeswax Collection

Two traditions. One piece. A life beyond the flame.

This collection brings together two artisan traditions from Oaxaca: the distinctive barro negro of San Bartolo Coyotepec and the tradition of working with beeswax in Teotitlán del Valle.

Each piece begins as a handcrafted barro negro vessel, shaped by hand and carrying the natural variations that make every piece unique. It is then filled with natural beeswax from Teotitlán del Valle, creating a warm golden contrast against the deep black clay.

But the candle is only its first life.

Once the beeswax has burned, the barro negro vessel is meant to stay. Depending on the design, it can be reused as a mezcalero, jewelry holder, keepsake vessel, incense holder, small planter, or simply as a decorative piece.

This 2-in-1 collection reflects what MexiGlam is about: honoring traditional craftsmanship while bringing it into everyday life in a way that feels beautiful, intentional, and useful.
