Ana María Alarzón Collection

Maestra Ana María Alarzón is a master ceramic artist from Santa María Atzompa, Oaxaca, where she has dedicated her life to preserving one of Mexico’s most celebrated pottery traditions. She began working with clay at the age of 12, learning ancestral techniques that have been passed down through generations of Oaxacan artisans.

Born into a family of potters, Maestra Ana María built Taller Coatlicue, a family workshop that became the foundation for generations of ceramic artists. There, she passed her knowledge and passion to her children, including renowned ceramic artist Maestra Ana Martínez, who later founded her own workshop, Taller Ometéotl, continuing the family’s artistic legacy in her own distinctive style.

Her work has been exhibited throughout Mexico, the United States, and Europe, earning international recognition for preserving Oaxaca’s rich ceramic heritage. Today, her creations can be found in galleries, museums, and private collections around the world.

Every piece is individually handcrafted using locally sourced clay, making each one truly one of a kind.
